Ruling on having intercourse with a wife during the month of Ramadan
Allah
Ta'ala has made intercourse with a wife lawful at all times and in all
places except some places and times. Almighty Allah has made sexual
intercourse lawful even in the holy month of Ramadan. But it can never
be done while fasting. If you have intercourse during Ramadan or fasting
day, the fast will be broken; Sexual intercourse can be done at any
time from after Iftar to Sehri.
If the fast is broken because of
sexual intercourse, it will not be equal to him even if he makes
expiation for the rest of his life. If you are very impatient after
fasting all day, then have intercourse at night so that you can become
pure before eating Sehri.
Islam has accepted intercourse during
the night of Ramadan. আল্লাহ তাআলা বলেন : ﺃُﺣِﻞَّ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻟَﻴْﻠَﺔَ
ﺍﻟﺼِّﻴَﺎﻡِ ﺍﻟﺮَّﻓَﺚُ ﺇِﻟَﻰ ﻧِﺴَﺎﺋِﻜُﻢْ ﻫُﻦَّ ﻟِﺒَﺎﺱٌ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﺃَﻧْﺘُﻢْ
ﻟِﺒَﺎﺱٌ ﻟَﻬُﻦَّ ﻋَﻠِﻢَ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﺃَﻧَّﻜُﻢْ ﻛُﻨْﺘُﻢْ ﺗَﺨْﺘَﺎﻧُﻮﻥَ
ﺃَﻧْﻔُﺴَﻜُﻢْ ﻓَﺘَﺎﺏَ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻜُﻢْ ﻭَﻋَﻔَﺎ ﻋَﻨْﻜُﻢْ ﻓَﺎﻟْﺂَﻥَ ﺑَﺎﺷِﺮُﻭﻫُﻦَّ
ﻭَﺍﺑْﺘَﻐُﻮﺍ ﻣَﺎ ﻛَﺘَﺐَ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪُ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ
Meaning: "Permissible for
you is to go to your wives during the night of fasting. They are a
garment for you and you are a garment for them. Allah knows that you
used to be unfaithful to yourselves. Then He accepted your repentance
and forgave you. So now you Join them and seek what Allah has written
for you." (Baqarah: 187)
It is clear from the verses of the
Qur'an that during the days of Ramadan, husband and wife sleep side by
side, caress, kissing, breaststroke, etc. are permissible; Also
intercourse at night is permissible. That is, it is permissible for a
husband and wife to enjoy their husband or wife during the day without
intercourse or ejaculation.
On the authority of Aisha (RA) who
said: The Prophet (PBUH) used to kiss his wife while fasting; Mubashara
(hugs) with his wife. And he was the most able to control his sexual
desire.
